Lassie Anderson
Lassie Anderson - More than a Hero. A Legend.
Project Brøndby has received a major boost by the endorsement of
collie Lassie Anderson, a famous dog actor from the 1940s.
Lassie joined the Project Brondby consortium on Friday 25th of February 2010, and officially endorsing the project by posting on our facebook wall the following message:
It's coming home, it´s coming, football´s coming home! Gascoigne for manager!
Lassie shot to fame in the 1940s after journalist Eric Knight documented Lassie's courageous tale. Lassie lived with the adoring Mr and Mrs Carraclough - however there was a terrible world wide economic depression. Mr. and Mrs. Carraclough were hit by hard times and forced to sell their collie, Lassie, to the rich Duke of Rudling, who had always admired her. Young Joe Carraclough, son of the aforementioned Mr and Mrs grew despondent at the loss of his companion.
This is not the end of tonight's tale however. We simply break here for a quick advert from our sponsors...

Lassie would have nothing to do with the Duke, however, and found ways to escape her kennels and return to Joe. Hurray for Lassie! The Duke finally carried Lassie to his home hundreds of miles distant in Scotland, which is even further away than Widnes. There, his granddaughter Priscilla sensed the dog's unhappiness and arranged her escape. Lassie then set off for a long trek to her Chester home and the boy who loves her.
Lassie faced many perils along the way—dog catchers and a violent storm—but also meet kind people who offered her aid and comfort. At the end, when Joe had given up hope of ever seeing his dog again, the weary Lassie returned to her favorite resting place in the schoolyard at home. There, Lassie was joyfully reunited with the boy she loved.
In recent years, Lassie retired from publicity and moved to Copenhagen in Denmark to live with the royal family and the little mermaid.
We would like to commend Lassie for publically backing our bid for Brøndby IC. We would however like to distance ourselves from news that Bamber Gascgoigne has been appointed as the new Brøndby director of football. We were not aware of this appointment until five minutes before the last match.
